The Kentlake Music Department is proud of its rich tradition of excellence. As a department we are always looking for ways to encourage musical growth and provide diverse performance experiences for our talented students.
Our school district has many financial responsibilities and unfortunately, there is never enough money to provide every organization with all they need. Consequently, the music department must assume responsibility for some of our expenses and in turn encourage direct participation from both students and parents.
| Fundraising efforts directly support the following: | ||
| - Music purchases | - Guest clinicians | - Accompanists |
| - Private lessons | - Festival entry fees | - Transportation costs |
| - Consumable supplies | - Equipment | - Clothing |
There are two types of fundraisers; student account fundraisers and general fundraisers. Student account fundraisers are those events where earnings are directly traceable to individual efforts, such as the Laser Engraving sale. Money earned from those events goes to the accounts of the individual students. The students can then use the money in these accounts to pay for individual music related expenses, such as trip costs. General fundraisers are those events where the earnings are not traceable to individual efforts. Money raised from those events is used for items such as music purchases which benefit the music program as a whole.
